Physiotherapy is a branch of medicine. In due course a student pursuing the diploma in Physiotherapy is trained to heal certain diseases and conditions using physical techniques and other agents like Heat therapy, Hydrotherapy, Shortwave therapy, Microwave therapy, Ultrasonic therapy, Electrical therapy, Electrical massagers, Paraffin wax Therapy, Infrared rays and Ultraviolet units, Traction etc.
Some these techniques are commonly used in day to day life by many people. After hardcore medical treatments, Physiotherapy is the second line defence used to treat patients. It is a highly “in demand” profession in the West and the Europe and soon is catching up in the Asiatic regions.
The course is recognised by the State Medical Faculty and the students who have taken the diplomas have either started working in our own hospitals or they are private practitioners.
